
We are the South East Queensland Group (SEQG) of the Historical Radio Society of Australia (HRSA) . The group was formed in 1997 by Clyde Ford to foster collecting and restoring of radios in South East Queensland.

REDLAND MUSEUM DISPLAY

The SEQ Group of the H.R.S.A. in conjunction with the Redland Museum is putting on a display to commemorate 75 YEARS OF BROADCASTING IN QUEENSLAND. The display runs from November 3rd to the 26th. The Museum is open every Friday and Saturday 1pm - 3pm and Sunday 11am - 4pm.

Sunday 10th December Christmas get together and Quality Auction. This will be held at the "Big Fish" function room situated to the left of the main highway approx 4km north of Caboolture.A 9 am start. You may recall a large service station, golf driving range and a Go-cart track,the "Big Fish"is there too. Christmas dinner will consist of a 2 course meal at no cost to finanical members. Unfinanical members, partners and guests will be obliged to pay $12.50 per head. (lots of good radios judging from last year.) The Competition will be judged at the SEQG March 2001 Meeting
Any one valve (tube) may be used, including more then one electron stream as long as they are in the one envelope.
A separate semi-conductor detector diode (but not a second valve) may be used.
The receiver must be submitted for judging with its own power source and headphones or speaker.
It may be powered by battery or mains, If powered by mains power, the mains wiring should be such that it is inaccessable while the set is operating and the chassis must be earthed to the mains plug earth pin. If the receiver is considered unsafe by the judges it will be disqulified. The power supply may contain valves.
The receiver may tune more than one band, but it will be judged on its performance on the broadcast band (550Khz to 1600Khz).
A circuit diagram and explanation of the controls must be supplied.
Judging - All receivers will be judged for: On air performance 40 points, Consruction technique 30 points, Appearance 30 points.
Note: The "on Air Performance" will take into account the type of circuit and award points accordingly, ie: a TRF will be judged on its performance as such and not judged against a Regen or Superhet receiver (There is a challenge for the judges)
There will be prizes for Best Reproduction, Most Original, and The Judges Choice
